Who we are
LEAP C.O. ("LEAP," "we," "us," or "our") is a student-founded, student-run nonprofit organization, fiscally sponsored by HCB (Hack Club). LEAP runs eight programs: LEAP Career Chapters, LEAP School Chapters, BRIDGE, Nourish N Narrate, Networking Events, Global Impact & Support, Interloop, and TutorNest. What information we collect
Forms. When you fill out a LEAP form — such as the "Start a LEAP Chapter" form or the "Start BRIDGE in your community" form — we collect what you enter, which may include your name, email address, school, city, and the chapter or program you're interested in. These forms are run on Google Forms.
LEAP account. New sign-ups are closed. If you created a LEAP C.O. account earlier, we store your name and email address. Sign-in was handled by Google Firebase Authentication — your password is never visible to us.
Emails and messages. When you email us or message us on Instagram, we receive your message and contact details so we can reply.
Donations. Donations are processed by HCB (Hack Club). We never receive or store your card or bank details. HCB may share basic donation details with us, such as your name, email address, and donation amount.
Theme setting. If you choose Light, Dark, or Color mode, your browser remembers that choice (in local storage, a small first-party cookie named leap-theme, and the links between pages). It stores only the theme name — nothing about you.
Programs that are coming soon. Interloop and TutorNest have not launched yet. Before either one launches, we'll update this policy to explain exactly what it collects.
How we use your information
- To connect you with the chapter, school chapter, or program you expressed interest in
- To reply to your forms, emails, and messages
- To organize events, workshops, drives, and chapter activities
- To manage existing LEAP accounts
- To keep records of donations and how they're used
Who can see your information
- Form responses and emails — only LEAP founders and the program or chapter leaders who need them to follow up with you
- Account data — only you, and LEAP admin accounts for support
- Donation records — LEAP founders and HCB
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with anyone for marketing purposes.
Photos and the Team page
We only post a member's name or photo on this site or on Instagram with their permission. To have your name or photo removed, email [email protected].
Children's privacy
LEAP is designed for high school students (typically ages 14–18). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without verifiable parental consent. If you believe a child under 13 has submitted information to us, email [email protected] and we will delete it promptly.
Your rights
You can ask us to access, correct, or delete your personal information at any time by emailing [email protected]. We'll respond within 14 days.
Third-party services
We use these services, each with its own privacy policy:
- Google Firebase — account sign-in and data storage
- Google Forms — chapter and program sign-up forms
- HCB (Hack Club) — fiscal sponsorship and donation processing
- Instagram — our public page, @project_leap.co
- Google Fonts and cdnjs — fonts and page scripts loaded from their servers
- Google AdSense — some pages load Google's advertising script, which may use cookies under Google's own policies
Nourish N Narrate (nourishnarrate.org) is run on its own website, which has its own policies.
Changes to this policy
We'll update this policy as LEAP grows and as new programs launch, and change the "Last updated" date at the top when we do.
